Energy Resiliency in Hazard Mitigation Roundtable (In-person)

Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) Natural Resource department will be hosting an upcoming Hazard Mitigation Roundtable Thursday, July 27^th from 9 am – 1 pm. The purpose of this roundtable is to identify areas during the hazard mitigation planning process where energy resiliency topics could be better integrated. Dr. Margaret Cook, Senior Research Associate, from the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC), to speak and lead the discussion on the following topics:

• The importance of energy resilience, what that could look like for your specific community, and potential challenges with energy resilience.
• Combined heat and power (CHP) technical assistance
• Preliminary energy assessments (PEAs) to lower capital costs of resiliency
• RESIN – resilience mapping tool demonstration
