Houston City Council adopted an ordinance this week to require all new residential construction to  be 10% higher than the 2009 IECC, which is the current statewide code.  Houston was already 5% above the 2009; this move further establishes Houston’s position as an energy efficiency leader.

The City of Cedar Park, the fourth fastest growing city in America from 2010-2011, adopted the IECC effective October 1, 2012. Amarillo adopted the 2012 IECC (with significant amendments) last year as well.
