SUMMARY:CELC Webinar: Resilience Through a West Texas City Lens
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore the unique challenges and opportunities that West Texas cities face in building resilience. This session will delve into how these communities navigate economic\, environmental\, and social resilience in the face of adversity. \nDate:  July 18th\nTime: 10:00 am CST\nSpeaker: Nicole Ferrini\, Climate & Sustainability Officer\, City of El Paso \nNicole Ferrini holds degrees in both interior design and architecture from Texas Tech University. It is from that basis in the world of design that Nicole launched her career building better\, stronger\, more prosperous communities. In 2007\, she founded Uncommon LLC as a mechanism to affect positive change within the built environment. The Uncommon concept of “Build for Life” is about creating environments that move with the way we live now and change for the way we will live tomorrow\, while always maintaining respect for the rich cultural history that represents where we’ve come from. \nNicole is a founding member of the USGBC Chihuahuan Desert Chapter\, Eco El Paso Founding Board Member\, and member of the Congress for New Urbanism. Through her work with these organizations\, Nicole has established herself as a community leader working to raise the bar for design and provoke a new conversation among civic leaders\, industry professionals and the community at large. Most recently Nicole acted as spearhead for the GRO El Paso Initiative\, focused on building grass roots resilience at a regional scale with emphasis on issues ranging from climate instability\, resource conservation and crisis management\, to urban development and social justice. \n\nTweet

SUMMARY:ENERGY STAR Webinar: Learn How Energy Skilled™ and ENERGY STAR® Work Together
DESCRIPTION:Heat pumps and heat pump water heaters are highly efficient products that can help homeowners save energy and money across the country. However\, challenges remain in recruiting\, training\, and upskilling the workforce to sustain and expand the progress in adoption of these products. \nTo promote the importance of the right workforce skills for optimized performance in heat pump systems\, the Department of Energy (DOE) created the Energy Skilled™ initiative. Training and certification programs recognized by DOE as Energy Skilled prepare workers to meet the demand for next-generation home equipment. This designation highlights credentials that are aligned with clean energy transition goals and qualifies these programs for workforce funding opportunities through the Inflation Reduction Act. \nJoin to hear how ENERGY STAR and DOE are collaborating to bring together the leading efficiency technologies and the workforce to deliver them to consumers. \nWhat the webinar will cover:\n• The value of Energy Skilled-recognized credentials in the labor market\n• How to seek recognition for your program\n• How ENERGY STAR and Energy Skilled work together \n\nTweet
