SUMMARY:CELC Webinar: Plug loads management for commercial buildings
DESCRIPTION:Plug and process loads consume about 47% of primary energy in U.S. commercial buildings\, according to the DOE. Plug and process loads refer to energy used by equipment plugged into an outlet. In minimally code-compliant office buildings\, plug loads may account for up to 25% of total energy consumption. But plug loads may account for more than 50% of the total energy consumption in highly-efficient buildings. This presentation will focus on the lessons learned by HARC optimizing and managing its plug load consumption to minimize costs and decarbonize building operations. \nSpeaker: Carlos Gamarra\, HARC Sr. Research Scientist in Clean Energy Technology at the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) \nRegister Here \n\nTweet

SUMMARY:CELC Webinar: Identifying Energy Burdens & Improving Energy Equity
DESCRIPTION:TEPRI\, in collaboration with the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA)\, co-developed the Energy Equity Inspector – a geospatial tool to help identify and highlight the depth of energy burdens and environmental impacts in communities in the southeastern United States. This tool illuminated the alarming scale of unaffordable energy and environmental threats across Texas. \nIn this webinar\, we will discuss:\n• Identify the communities where disproportionate impacts of energy burden\n• Risks of environmental vulnerability on low and moderate-income (LMI) households are in Texas\n• Community highlights on the state of affordability in the most populous cities of the counties covered by the tool \nSpeakers:\nBobuchi Ken-Opurum\, PhD\, ENV SP\, LEED Green Associate- TEPRI Director of Research\nAndrew Robinson- TEPRI Research Analyst \nRegister Here \n\nTweet

SUMMARY:CELC Webinar: Air Quality Related to Energy Efficiency
DESCRIPTION:Heating and cooling buildings use a lot of energy — about 43% of all energy use in the United States. Producing this energy requires us to burn fossil fuels like coal and oil\, which contributes to air pollution and generates large amounts of greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.  Understanding the connection between air quality and energy is essential in moving the needle forward in improving Texas’s air quality and energy. \nIn this webinar\, we will discuss: \n\nWhat is NOX\nWho is in the non-attainment region?\nHow energy efficiency is the first step to energy conservation\n\nSpeaker: Capital Area Council of Governments \nRegister Here \n\nTweet

SUMMARY:CELC Webinar :How to use Data to Create Stories
DESCRIPTION:What makes a story engaging? Characters\, setting\, a seemingly impossible conflict to be resolved in the final pages. Context and detail are vital elements for anyone wanting to go from numbers in a spreadsheet to comprehension on the faces of colleagues and partners. \nIn this webinar\, learn how to identify the key elements of data communication and develop a comprehensive story from start to finish. With a focus on resource conservation\, we will use examples such as building efficiency\, water conservation\, and budgeting. In addition\, we will explore the world of data dashboards and how they can be used  (at their most simple level) to tell several versions of a story from different perspectives.\nPresenter: JT Douglas\, City of Denton \nRegister here. \n\nTweet
