SUMMARY:SPEER's Building Operator Certification Summer 2025 Course
DESCRIPTION:SPEER is a partner receipent in the DOE’s Building Training and Assessment Center (BTAC) Grant. This grant supports Building Operator Certification (BOC) funding to enhance training for building energy efficiency professionals in energy-efficient design and operations in the south-central region.  Through this grant we are able to waive the registration cost and offer the training free of charge. By addressing workforce demand at the local and regional levels\, it helps bridge the gap created by retiring professionals while preparing for the adoption of advanced building systems and controls. \nThe summer course will begin May 13th and run through August 21st. This course will be taught live\, in a virtual format through Zoom with our qualified instructors. Spots are limited – register here. \n*BOC training is for building professionals with two or more years’ experience who wish to broaden their knowledge of the total building system. Learn more about eligibility here. Email questions or inquiries to Liz John at ejohn@eepartnership.org. \n\nTweet

SUMMARY:Webinar: A2L Refrigerants & the 2025 HVAC Transition - What Building Officials Need to Know
DESCRIPTION:New Refrigerants\, New Rules — Are You Ready? \nJoin us for a free\, one-hour webinar designed specifically for building officials\, inspectors\, and code enforcement professionals preparing for the 2025 transition to A2 and A2L refrigerants in residential and commercial HVAC systems. \nWith the EPA phasing down high-GWP refrigerants like R-410A starting January 1\, 2025\, and manufacturers rolling out equipment charged with mildly flammable A2L refrigerants like R-32 and R-454B\, it’s critical to understand what this means for plan review\, installation inspections\, and code compliance. \nWhat You’ll Learn: \n\nWhy the refrigerant transition is happening – and what the AIM Act requires\nHow A2L refrigerants differ from A1’s (like R-410A) in safety\, performance\, and risk\nCode changes\, charge limits\, and system placement requirements under the IMC and IRC\nWhat to look for during inspections: equipment labeling\, ventilation\, leak detection\, and training\n\nBONUS: \nAll attendees receive a printable inspection checklist!! \n\nTweet
